How to Bio-Hack your Nervous System

Have you ever heard of bio hacking your nervous system? I hadn’t until recently and now I am obsessed.

My nervous system was shot to hell. From covid to my day to day activities after the pandemic, I was feeling run down and this was manifesting physically. UTI’s, skin irritation, mental fog and other symptoms of an unbalanced nervous system began to emerge.

I talk about it all the time, our nervous system and its conditions are vital for our health and wellbeing. Our nervous system is made up of our Central Nervous System (CNS) and our Peripheral Nervous System (PNS).

Our Central Nervous System is made up of our Brain and Spinal Cord. Our Peripheral Nervous System is made up of nerves that branch off the Spinal Cord to all parts of the body.

Now you can see why the health of our nervous system is vital.

Any form of stress causes a negative reaction in our nervous system and also causes inflammation. Any cause of inflammation is something to be looked at.

Bodies are like well-oiled machines, when all systems work in harmony the machine is running smoothly but when one part isn’t working properly that can cause problems.

This can look like:

  • Depression

  • Overthinking

  • Irritability

  • High Blood Sugar

  • Muscle Pain

  • Physical Tension

  • Decrease in the healing process

  • Acne

  • Dermatitis

  • Wrinkles

  • Fine Lines

  • Disruption in Hormone Function

  • Breathing Difficulty

  • IBS

And many other things.

So what if we can start to reverse some of the damage we have already made. What if we could bring our nervous system back to balance. Would you do it?

Here are list of different and accessible ways to help achieve this:

  • Yoga

  • Meditation

  • Frequency Healing

  • Cold Water

  • Weighted Blanket

  • Breathing

  • Going for a walk

  • Tapping

  • Nature

  • Intermitted Fasting

  • Spending time with pets

  • Essential Oils

  • Singing, Dancing or Moving

If you want to improve your sleep, mood and energy levels then you want to find ways to support your internal systems. It’s easy to shy away from the internal damage we do to ourselves because we can’t see it and have programmed ourselves to not feel it. It’s not until it rises to the surface and slaps us in the face that we actually start to take action.

So why not now? Pick something in the list above or google it and find something that resonates with you and do it consistently. There are way’s to measure this goal - to improve the health of your nervous system. One is to go with how you feel. When you wake up and/or go to bed take note either on paper or on your phone as to how you feel and anything else that you notice. If you can stay consistent with all of this you will start to notice subtle differences that will turn into positive shifts in your health and wellbeing.

Some people choose to take action and some don’t. There is no right or wrong it just comes down to your priorities and what it is you want out of your life. If you want to live a more balanced life mentally and physically then take action, and YES there is another way, life doesn’t have to be so hard.

When we bring balance to our internal systems it will begin to manifest in our external. Its 80% inner game and 20% strategy.

Any questions on this, you know where I am and I would be more than happy to help.

Sending you so much love

Jen
