Putting Yourself First

Does putting yourself first make you feel guilty? Do you put everyone else’s needs before your own…….even the dogs daily routine is more important than yours!! This was me too.

Recently I have learned not to allow myself to go into other peoples pain or should I say stress. It’s so easy when your partner or child or parent is in a stressed state for you to go into that place with them. I know this because I have been here so many times.

We as human beings can physically feel the emotions of others and begin to struggle to differentiate between our own emotions and other peoples. When in this place it can get very confusing and overwhelming.

Good news is that it can be managed through choice, commitment and consistency.

Yoga is the go to thing for me, sometimes its a bath, sometimes a massage, maybe a nap, maybe the gym but I do something everyday to carve out time for me. I mediate every morning which starts me off with a clear head, I go through my to do list and I check it all off and commit to fit in a flow and another meditation to end my day. I don’t always find a quiet space but the point is I am putting my wellbeing first and prioritising my health so I can be the best version of myself for others.

Understandably a lot of people struggle to fit anything in because they are so tired after work that they are ready to come home, put their feet up and relax. This is okay and I do it too because we all need this time however the tv and chilling on the couch EVERY night is not going to help us physically or mentally. It’s not going to grow us or take us to the place we want to be.

Yoga is one of the many ways you can prioritise your health. The reason I am a huge advocate for yoga is because of it’s benefits. The mental benefits are just as good as the physical and when you can align them both you will start to feel that sense of calm, have a clearer head so you can make better decisions, you will have more energy and feel less tired, you will be physically open, not rigid and tight. I could go on.

So here is your cue to find even 5 mins today (if you can do more do it) to be in your own company and stop interacting with the rest of the world for just a few moments. Peace is found in these moments.

If you have 15 minutes today that you can give to yourself then I want to share this flow with you. Its a 15 minute yoga flow including breath and relaxation to not just relax and energise the body but to also relax and clear the mind.

Its FREE so you have no excuse, the only thing stopping you is you and the story that you are telling yourself. “I don’t have time” “I will do it tomorrow” “my mind is too busy” “I can’t do yoga” “I’m not flexible enough for yoga” “ I can’t sit still” etc etc etc. We have all said it and we have all heard it and i’m sorry to say but you are the only one that can change that. How do you do that. YOU MAKE A CHOICE!!!! So do it now, get up and click the link below and do this class. I promise you will feel better for doing it and your mind and body will thank you for it and probably the rest of your household :D:D:D:D:D

More peace, more clam, better sleep, more focus, more energy……who wouldn’t want that?

It’s your time and it’s your choice. There is no right or wrong to this decision it simply comes down to, do you want to feel better in your mind and body?

It's time to put yourself first.

Sending you all love

Jen
